Jaipur. Mahashivaratri is being celebrated on 11 March 2021 i.e. on Thursday. It is considered to be the biggest day for Shiva devotees. It is believed that on this day, Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married. Jyotishacharya Pandit Somesh Parsai explains that it is the day of union of Shiva and Shakti. This is the reason why there is a special worship of Goddess Parvati along with Shiva on Mahashivaratri.
Fasting on this day has special significance for Shiva worship. Shivalinga is worshiped on Shivaratri. Water should be offered on Shivling on this day. To remove mental disturbance, milk should be offered with a silver vessel on the Shivling. Bilvapatra, Dhatura as well as figure flowers should be offered on the Shivling. After the puja, the chanting of Omkar Mantra: Om Shivaaya must be done.
Many auspicious coincidences are being made on Mahashivaratri this year. Jyotishacharya Mkumar Sharma explains that on the day of Shivaratri, the Moon factor of mind and Mercury god factor of business and intellect will change. On March 11, the Moon’s zodiac sign will change. Chandradev will enter Aquarius from Capricorn at 9.45 am. Shortly after this, Mercury will come from Capricorn to Aquarius in the morning at 11.30 am.
Along with the meeting of Mercury and Moon in Aquarius, many auspicious yogas will also be made on Shivaratri. Due to Dhanishtha Nakshatra on Thursday, this time auspicious yoga is being created on Shivaratri. Apart from this, Shiv Yoga will be for 09 minutes in the morning, which is very beneficial. After Shivayoga, Siddha Yoga will begin, which is the accomplishment of all works. These auspicious yogas have increased the importance of Mahashivaratri.
On March 11, Chaturdashi date will start from 2.39 pm to 2.00 pm and the next day on March 12, it will be at 2:00 pm for 2 minutes. As it is clear from the name that night is important in Mahashivaratri festival. For this reason, celebrating Mahashivaratri on March 11 will be scriptural and reliable.
