Akola: The Marathi short film ‘Khisa’, which has made its mark in many national and international film festivals, was awarded the 67th National Award while Raj More was awarded the National Award for Best Emerging Director in the Non-Feature Film category by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu. Their success has added value to the cultural splendor of Akola.
The National Film Awards ceremony, which was pending due to the outbreak of Kovid-19, was finally held on October 25 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. He was presented the award by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Khisa, directed by Raj More, is the first short film to be screened at various film festivals around the world. Along with 27 international awards, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award has also been won. Raj Pritam More is a renowned painter who has earlier been honored with the 54th National Academy of Fine Arts.

P.P. Produced by Cine Productions, Mumbai and Laltippa, the short film is scripted by Kailash Waghmare and shot entirely in Akola. In this short film, Kailash Waghmare, Meenakshi Rathod, Shruti Madhideep, Dr. Sheshpal Ganveer and child artist Vedanta Kshirsagar have played the roles while Parijat Chakraborty has composed the music. Santosh Maithani is in charge of the collection and Simarjit Singh Suman is the director of photography.

The National Film Awards are for Akola and Vidarbha with the entire short film team, Raj More shared on social media. Originally from Akola, Raj More gave his art education to J.P. J. He has completed at the School of Arts and has gained a reputation in the field of art for the last 20 years. The short film ‘Khisa’ is a poignant commentary on the rural mentality and has touched upon the subject of social harmony in a very sensitive manner.
