3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time ends its screenings in theaters in Japan – Kudasai

On the official Twitter account for the franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion it was confirmed that Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time ended its 136 days of screenings in theaters in Japan with a total of 6.69 million tickets sold and a final gross of 10.22 billion yen (about 92.7 million dollars). Currently only 26 cinemas will continue showing the film at least until next Wednesday.

The latest film was released in Japanese theaters on March 8 and became the most successful film in both Neon Genesis Evangelion like Hideaki Anno. To date it has not been released outside of Japan, and on June 11 it was released Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time. The new version contains “minor revisions” to some animation sequences, but does not change the story of the film.

Both this latest film and the three previous films in the film project, which include Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance Y Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, will be added to the global catalog of the platform Amazon Prime Video next August 13. The platform only explicitly confirmed the dubbing of the fourth film.

In 2015, the world is on the brink of destruction.
