The young England player performed tremendously with the ball and bat in the T20 Blast semifinals, but still failed to lead his team to the final.
Left-arm fast bowler George Garton has been added to replace Daniel Sam.
The second part of IPL 2021 (IPL 2021) season is starting in UAE and all the teams are almost ready. Many foreign players from most of the teams dropped out of this part and new players were signed in their place and they have also joined the UAE with their respective teams. But there is one player who is showing his mettle before reaching the UAE. This player is George Garton. The England fast bowler-all-rounder has been signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captained by Virat Kohli. Garton is currently in England and will be joining RCB soon, but just before that he showed off his talent.
Garton played for his team Sussex in the T20 Blast tournament in Birmingham, England on Saturday 18 September. Sussex faced Kent in the second semifinal of the tournament. Kent batted first and scored 168 runs in 20 overs, with Danian Bell contributing 81 runs. In response, the entire Sussex team could only make 147 runs and lost the match by 21 runs and missed out on reaching the final. Despite the team’s defeat, Garton did well for Sussex.
Persecuted with first balls
The 24-year-old fast bowler, who made a name for himself due to his speed, showed his mettle in the first bowling. Left-arm pacer Garton started bowling for Sussex and tied Kent in his 4-over spell and achieved success. Garton conceded just 24 runs and claimed Kent’s opening 2 wickets.
Then scared with the bat
When it came to Sussex batting, the batsmen of the team surrendered and took 5 wickets for just 57 runs. Garton, who came to the crease, showed the strength of his bat and got the team back by washing the bowlers of Kent. During this time he batted indiscriminately in just 23 balls and scored 41 runs. It included 4 fours and 3 sixes. After his dismissal, the rest of the Sussex batsmen could not lead the team to victory.

RCB happy with Garton’s performance
Even if Sussex lost, Garton’s performance must have thrilled and excited the RCB team management, including Virat Kohli. RCB has signed Garton after withdrawing the name of left-arm Australian medium pacer Daniel Sam. Garton has played 39 T20 matches in his career so far, taking 46 wickets. While with the bat he has scored 228 runs with a strike rate of 131.
